The Italian American Experience

Interdisciplinary approach to study of different forces that have shaped Italian American identity and culture in the United States. The Italian American presence in the U.S., and its contributions and representations in American society; exposure to historical, anthropological, linguistic and cultural studies. Students will develop a final research project focused on Italian American communities in the Triangle or elsewhere. Classes will be conducted in English with a preceptorial in Italian for majors and minors. One course.
