La Table Française!

La Table Française is a weekly conversation table which takes place in the Great Hall (look for the table with a French flag). It is open to everyone in the Duke Community who would like to speak French with us! All levels welcome.

Nasher Visit - French Collection - Thursday, April 12th - 5:30-6:30pm!

The French Department, in partnership with the Nasher museum, will offer a free tour of its beautiful French collection to 15 students on Thursday, April 12th from 5:30-6:30pm! Space is limited - a sign-up sheet is up by Languages 015 (basement). Only sign-up if you are 100% sure you can join the tour. This guided visit will take the small group to the basement of the Nasher and participants will get an exclusive tour of the storage and work rooms, where pieces of art from the Nasher's own collection will be displayed: paintings, prints, drawings, photographs covering many centuries. Join us on Thursday, April 12th and go sign up today!

French Ciné Club:

Come join us at our next French movie showing to discover why the French call le cinéma "le 7ème art"!

The French Ciné club is happy to present "La Femme Nikita" by the world famous director Luc Besson (1990) (110mins) on Tuesday, April 17th at 7pm in Social Psych 130. Convicted felon Nikita, instead of going to jail, is given a new identity and trained, stylishly, as a top secret spy/assassin. Trailer here!

Free and open to everyone so bring your friends. Movie in French with English subtitles.

Cheese Tasting Day - La fête du fromage!

Come join us on Thursday, April 19th from 3:30-4:30pm on the terrace of Languages (weather permitting, if rain, we'll be in Perkins 218) for a delicious cheese tasting of exquisite French cheese! Some will be soft, some will be strong and many will be very smelly! Un plaisir culinaire pour tous les sens!
