Graduate student Kasia Stempniak’s paper, “L’île de la toilette:  Fashion and Space in Flaubert’s Le Château des cœurs and L’Éducation sentimentale,” won the Naomi Schor prize for best paper presented by a graduate student at the Nineteenth-Century French Studies Colloquium held at Brown University this past weekend.

The conference was attended by 250 scholars of nineteenth-century French studies from around the world, and Kasia’s paper was the best of the outstanding graduate student entries in this competition.  Congratulations, Kasia!
