Class of 2028
Majors in African & African American Studies and Economics
I’m Jayden Geneus, an African & African American Studies and Economics major with a passion for exploring the intersection of law, economics, and social justice. On campus, I serve as a Resident Assistant for Edens and am actively involved in the Black Pre-Law Society and Beyond Borders. I plan to pursue law school, where I hope to leverage my unique perspective to drive meaningful change. Outside of academics, I enjoy playing the drums, pickup basketball, and thrifting.
Favorite Class: My favorite class at Duke was Music History and Politics in Contemporary Africa with Professor Felwine Sarr. I found it especially meaningful because it deepened my understanding of how music not only reflects but actively shapes postcolonial identities, while also highlighting the complex political and cultural dynamics of contemporary Africa.
