Class of 2027
Majors in Romance Studies (Spanish & Portuguese) and International Comparative Studies (Latin America & the Caribbean)

Hello! My name is Mariama Ceesay, and I'm studying Romance Studies with a focus on Spanish and Portuguese as well as International Studies. On campus, I am a Mellon Mays Fellow, a WIN Scholar, and a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. As the daughter of an immigrant, I aspire to one day become an immigration attorney. In my free time, I enjoy drawing, reading, studying geography, and watching documentaries.

Favorite Class: My favorite class at Duke would have to be ICS 195 –– the gateway course for the International Comparative Studies major. Not only was it a challenging course that completely changed my perspective of the world, but it also made me change my major to ICS!
